Spiritual Truths

Psalms 119:18 AMP

“Open my eyes [to spiritual truth] so that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law.”

When we read the words of God, we should expect to receive some spiritual truth that will elevate our spirits. “Spiritual truths are realities that transcend human wisdom and are discerned through faith and the guidance of the Holy Spirit,” (Topical Encyclopedia). Basically, as we seek these spiritual truths in God’s words, we employ the Holy Spirit to guide us to these truths. Typically, we will search His words until we find some truth that speaks to us or to our situation. This is not just reading as we do a book. God’s words are filled with endless truths that we should live by. We need to find these truths on a daily basis to thrive, to overcome, to be encouraged. What I read yesterday was great, and it is still working through my heart and mind, but today I need a fresh revelation for today.

Prayer:

Open my eyes, Lord, so that I may behold wonderful truths from Your words. Give me the breath of life that I need today from Your words. In Your name, Precious Jesus, Amen!
