Remembering Our Father’s

Proverbs 22:6 ESV

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

This morning we honor our fathers. Some were kind like my father, and some were rough around the edges, but we still must honor them according to the commandments of our God. “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you,” Exodus 20:12.

The best fathers led us to Father God. He became our Father when we were adopted into His family. My father was a good man that provided for us, led us by example, and he lived for the Lord. My mother was the spiritual leader in our home, but my father lived the Christian life before us. He prayed with us, typically silently, he read the scriptures faithfully, and he took us to church. He was a hard-working man that believed the best that he could do was teaching us how to provide for ourselves, he did that well and all six of us boys followed him, we too were hard workers.

I’m not sure what your dad was like, but I hope that you can glean the good and forgive if there was any bad.

Remember our heavenly Father today and honor Him. He loves You so much, so much in fact that He gave His Son to die for your redemption and salvation.

Prayer:

Lord, I want to thank you for my father, he was a good father. Thank You for working in him, and through him to teach me, to love me and to show me the way to You. Bless all our fathers today if they are with us, and for those who have gone on before us, thank you for the time that we had. Thank You heavenly Father for so much love, so much grace, and so much mercy, Your love is astounding! Happy Father’s Day to You Father God, Amen!
