Understanding
1 Corinthians 13:12 AMP
“For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God].”
Some scriptures may be hard to understand. Our limitations to know what each writer was going through at the time of their writings and what the Holy Spirit was speaking to them cannot always be grasped by us, it’s a matter of interpretation. The Holy Spirit can and will guide us into all truths, if we employer Him to do so in our Bible study and devotions. I often search other scriptures and even different translations as well as Hebrew and Greek to get the proper concept of the message in each scripture. I use some commentaries and dictionaries to give me an entire concept about the scripture, as well as the study of individual words, (semantics). We may not understand all scriptures at face value, but I believe the Holy Spirit has a message for each of us every day, we just have to be willing to seek and search with the Holy Spirits help for understanding. Do the work, receive the reward.
Prayer:
Lord, You have taught us well and simple enough for each of us to understand, but to understand fully, we need to be willing to put in the work of understanding. Guide us in Your words, guide us into all truth in Your words by Your Holy Spirit that is in us. In Your name, Lord Jesus, we ask, Amen!
