Using Our Voice for God

1 Samuel 3:19 ESV

“And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.”

In this verse, I discovered that in the Hebrew language, the phrase fall to the ground means that Samuel’s words were reliable, completely true, and fulfilled. It suggests that no part of the spoken message was wasted, lost, or ignored.

The importance of this statement is that God’s hand was upon Samuel. Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and God blessed Samuel that his words were reliable, completely true, no lies came out of his mouth, and all his words were accomplished. Not one word was lost, maligned wasted or ignored. That is an anointing from God.

For us, it teaches us that our words should be thoughtful, purposeful, healing and even if it is words to correct, they should be words that correct with grace and mercy. Harsh, brash words will fall to the ground!

Prayer:

Lord, we ask for your anointing. In return, we give you our voice for Your purpose, and Your plan. Help us to convey Your message in our words. Whether the occasion is to heal or correct, help us to use our words to convey Your will and Your ways. In Your name Lord Jesus, we are Your representatives. Touch our tongues to be for your purpose, Amen!
