You Have Searched Me
Psalms 139:1-2 ESV
“O Lord, You have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You discern my thoughts from afar.”
It’s a good thing that the Lord knows who we are intimately. I know that sometimes when we are not doing things exactly right, we may think that it is not good that God knows us well, but it is. God shapes us through the good times and through the bad times. He sees when we are obeying and trusting Him, and He sees when we are off doing our own thing, basically trusting ourselves and our own instincts. Then we get further down the road, and we start evaluating our lives. This is something that most people do when they start getting older. We see the good times when we were walking with God, and we see the times when we were not following Him. It becomes a balance and we start weighing what was best, and hopefully we come to the conclusion that following God was better for God, and for us. So we trust Him from here.
Prayer:
“O Lord, You have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You discern my thoughts from afar.” So, Lord, since You see the big picture and all I see is the way I have walked all my life, some good, some bad, show me the way to go from here. In Your precious name, Lord Jesus, Amen!
