Salvation
Psalms 3:8 ESV
“Salvation belongs to the Lord; Your blessing be on your people!”
David said that God was his salvation. This means that God was David’s deliverance whether from sin, enemies, or life’s struggles. Salvation is not just a one time occurrence, it is every day. We may need to be saved from some sort of sin, or we may need to be delivered from oppression or an oppressor. It may mean that God has to deliver us from situations in our lives, or struggles that we are working through. Whatever the situation, God saves us from them all, every day when we let Him.
David also calls for a blessing to be on God’s people. David was referring to Israel at the time, but in our day, we fall under that heading of God’s people, so David pronounces God’s blessing on us as well. That’s a blessing that we gladly receive!
Prayer:
Lord, save us today from whatever we encounter. Deliver us from evil, from circumstances, and maybe from some people who want to harm us physically or mentally. Lord, we need You today. In Your name we pray, Lord Jesus, Amen!
