Happy Resurrection Day

Luke 24:6-7 ESV

(The Angel said to her) “He is not here, but has risen. Remember how He told you, while He was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”

John 11:25-26 ESV

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

This first scripture is the angel at the tomb waiting to give a message to those who would seek Jesus. We know that Jesus knew exactly who would be at the tomb at this moment taking care of His body? Yes, it was the ladies. The Lord will use those who make themselves available even when the situation is tough. Mary came to the tomb to take care of our Lord, and He used her to be the first to spread the news of His resurrection. She was the first to spread the Gospel.

The second verse is Jesus speaking to Mary (the sister of Lazarus) just before Lazarus was raised from the grave. He said, “I am the resurrection and the life”, (eternal life). Whoever believes in me, though he (or she) die, yet shall he (or she) live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” I love His question to Mary. I hear that same question so many times from Jesus in the scriptures when I read them, “Do you believe this?”

Yes Lord, I believe!

Prayer:

Lord, I believe, help my unbelief. Help me to see with the eyes of possibilities, hope and assurance in You. Help me to make myself available to You. Thank You for the cross Lord, Thank You for the price that You paid for me. Thank You that You did not stay in the grave, but You rose to life so that I could live a new life. In Your Mighty name Lord Jesus, our Savior and our Redeemer, Amen!
