Remember

Hebrews 13:7 ESV

“Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.”

I think we can all think of at least one person in our life that showed us faith, love, hospitality and Christianity. Hopefully there was more than one in our lives that lived the example of Jesus Christ before us. I had a lot of people in my life that loved the Lord, that did their best, that pointed me to the way that I should go. I did not have many teachers, but I did have people who expressed to me that the words of God had what I needed to go further. I admit it was a struggle early on, but as God opened up His words to me and gave me understanding, it created a hunger and unquenchable thirst for more. 

What I’m going to ask you to do today is think of that person or maybe several people that lived by example. The person that prayed for you on your journey, the one that imparted wisdom from God, the ones that set a straight path for you to follow. Then, pray for them today if they are still alive or just thank God that they were there for you. If possible, send them a quick word thanking them for their faithfulness.

Prayer:

Lord, there were a few that were instrumental in my walk with You. Bless them today, honor them, lift them up, let them receive today a double portion of Your blessing, a double portion of Your honor. Let them know Lord that they set an example for many lives. In Your name Lord Jesus I ask, Amen!
