Strength
Isaiah 40:29-31 NIV
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
I know I have used this scripture several times over the years but it bears repeating and this verse is especially needed in difficult times. This verse is an anchor of hope to those who are losing hope. Then Isaiah uses the word “but”. That small word says hold on a minute, this story is not over yet, there is still hope, there is still faith, there is still our God and He is in control and when He is in control there is always help that is coming, it’s in the way.
The first part of this verse says basically that everyone has problems, but the difference with us is this; those who hope in the Lord will get their strength back in full bloom if they will trust in God and lean on God. Then when they get their strength back, nothing can stop them. When we are exhausted, bewildered, overwhelmed, it is at that point we look up and tell God, I need You, I trust You, I am leaning on You!
Prayer:
Lord, this morning we all need you, but there are a few that are desperate for Your love, Your grace and Your mercy. You are never ever far away, but some feel like You are far away. This morning lead them to the Rock, You are our Rock and our deliverer, an ever present help in times of trouble. Remind them who You are this morning. In Your name Lord Jesus, AMEN!
