Renewed Mind

Romans 12:2 AMP

“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].”

We have used this verse to direct people how to find the perfect will for God in their lives, but there are those who cannot get past their own minds to get to that point. This verse should be broke down like this: First things first; clear the clutter of the mind. Stuff like bills to pay, people to call, people that need to be dealt with, doctors to see, errands to run etc. For a moment, clear the clutter and let’s see what God has for us today. Yes, we will get back to the list of things to do, but first, commune with God for a moment, that’s called a devotion (taking a few minutes with God). To adjust our attitude is to adjust our altitude. That means that our mindset determines how high we will rise in our day with God in charge. Then begin the days list of to-do’s

Prayer:

Lord, every day that I start with You, is a day that I can trust that You have the best for me. There is always a lot to do, but to do it better is to begin with You refreshing our minds, renewing our hearts, and restoring our thought processes. Transform us this morning to have Your mind set. Then we will know what is important and what is not so important. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
