Assurance

Hebrews 11:1 ESV

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:1 means that faith is a deep-seated confidence in the reality of future things that God has promised, even though they are not visibly seen. This faith is not a blind guess but a firm trust in God’s character and promises, providing a foundation for our actions and a present-day ownership of future spiritual realities

This indicates a confident, firm grasp on what we expect to happen because God has promised them. It’s an absolute certainty about future blessings, salvation, and the heavenly realm that provides a solid foundation for our hope. It is not wishing, it is assured trust. Faith takes the unseen and makes the promises of God realities. As real and substantial like it had already happened. It is a deep inner certainty that what God has revealed in His Word will come to pass, even if it is not currently visible to our physical eyes. It is a trust grounded in God’s trustworthy nature and His unfailing promises, not a random leap into the dark. It involves an inner conviction and certainty that brings future hopes into the present as a physical reality.

Prayer:

Lord, I trust You and what You have promised. I don’t have to wonder, worry, or fret as if they were just some empty promises like we get from some people, Your promises are assured. So assured I feel like they are already present. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen
