God’s Name

John 17:26 ESV

“I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Jesus fully revealed God’s character, nature, and attributes, to His disciples, by making God known in a new and intimate way that was previously unseen. Jesus wasn’t just speaking God’s name; He demonstrated who God is and what He is about through His words, works, and the authority. He claimed, and establishing a profound, new relationship of intimacy between humanity and God. We do the same thing when we show people the glory of God and His name in our daily lives, speaking peace, assurance and the very nature of God through our words and deeds.

Prayer:

Lord, we bear Your name in our lives and in our hearts, minds and spirits. I pray that today and every day that we will show the world Your glory in and through us. I pray every day that we will show the world Your love, care and compassion through our words, actions and deeds. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
