Our Prayers Touch God
Proverbs 15:8 AMP
“The sacrifice of the wicked is hateful and exceedingly offensive to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight!”
A wicked person is someone who disregards God’s commands and lives a life of sin. Their sacrifices, even if religiously correct, are seen as detestable. We have seen people play the game of appearing to be a Christian, and I am not calling them wicked by any stretch of the imagination, I’m just saying they never really show the fruits of God in their lives unless it suits them. 1 Samuel 15:22 states, “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed (listen) than the fat of rams,” highlighting that God values obedience over external actions.
God finds joy and pleasure in the prayers of those who are His own, he loves hearing from each and every one of us every day. You could say that today’s verse teaches us that true worship involves a transformed heart and a life that reflects God’s character, not just outward, halfhearted religious acts. God isn’t fooled by halfhearted worship.
Prayer:

Our sacrifice today comes with adoration and praises the fruit of our lips give You the glory and honor that You deserve. You are our Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide). You are our Jehovah Nissi (The Lord Is My Banner). You are our Jehovah Raphe (The Lord Who heals). You Mighty God are our all in all, the El Shaddai (God Almighty or the God Who Has All Might and Power), our redeemer and Lord. Amen!
