Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

I have come to realize some of the things that we think we have a grasp on, we probably could use more understanding of those things.

Trust in the Lord with all of our hearts means to place complete faith and trust on God, not just an acknowledgement of God’s wisdom but a leaning on God totally.  It involves surrendering our whole nature to God and not relying on our own thought process. I know there are some saying right now, I know my thoughts are right and just. To that I say, get deeper into God’s word, He will explain it better.

When we put God in the center of everything in our lives (mind, will, and emotions) He will direct us to where we need to be, when we need to be there, and what we are supposed to do when we get there. When He makes our paths straight that is the moment when we have surrendered all to Him and taken our own GPS and thrown it out the window and we trust God for the next inch and the next mile.

Prayer:

Lord, do not let me think more highly of myself than I should. Help me to be sober in judgment of my own thoughts and reasonings. Cause me to be wise and astute ever looking to You as the Author and Finisher of my faith walk. In Your name Lord Jesus I ask, Amen!
