Jesus Prayed For Us

John 17:20 ESV

“I do not ask for these only (the disciples of Jesus), but also for those who will believe in Me through their word…”

Jesus prayed for us two thousand years ago and that power in His prayer is still bringing souls to the Kingdom today. Jesus was praying for His disciples, and us, to receive eternal life, that we would know God in every way. He prayed to keep us in the Father’s name as a seal, that we become one with the Father and Himself, and that we may have Jesus’s joy fulfilled in us. He prayed that God would keep us from the evil one (satan) and that we would become sanctified (set apart by God, for God’s purposes) in the truth (God’s words are the truth). Jesus prayed these things for us two thousand years ago and that prayer is still resounding today. Feel this covering today and know that the Master has covered you and I in prayer.

Prayer:

Lord, we receive everything that You prayed for us that day two thousand years ago. You did not have to pray that prayer ever again because You prayed it with such power and conviction, that it is heard in our hearts and spirits everyday of our lives. In fact, that prayer was written down so that we will remember what You prayed over us. Thank You Lord Jesus, Amen!
