Have You Been With Jesus

Acts 4:13 AMP

“Now when the men of the Sanhedrin (Jewish High Court) saw the confidence and boldness of Peter and John, and grasped the fact that they were uneducated and untrained [ordinary] men, they were astounded, and began to recognize that they had been with Jesus.”

Something came out of Peter and John as they faced the Jewish High Counsel, even though they may have been uneducated, poor fishermen in their earlier days, now something new had transpired in their lives. The boldness and power was none other than the Holy Spirit in them, and the fact that they had spent three and half years with Jesus had changed their lives forever. Now they were on a mission, they were on a mission to influence lives for Jesus Christ. 

They had been commissioned by the High Counsel to no longer speak in the name of Jesus, but Peter and John would not listen to the mandate of men, they must obey God and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ even at the point of threats and eventually later in their lives death. They were not afraid, they knew who they were in Christ, and they knew their destiny, and where they would be for eternity.

Can people tell that we have been with Jesus by our words and actions?

Prayer:

Lord, I pray that we always represent You in words and in deeds. I pray that as people hear us they know that there is something different about us, something has changed in our lives for the better. I pray that we offer a unique and powerful message to those who will listen. I pray that through us they will see Your glory Lord. In Your name we ask, Amen!
