Our Experience With God

Exodus 3:14 ESV

“God said to Moses, “I AM who I AM.” And He said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.”

God is the “I AM,” meaning He exists by His own nature and is not dependent on anything or anyone for His being. This concept is known as aseity or self-existent and independent. The phrase signifies that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, with no beginning and no end. God’s self-revelation indicates that His being is constant and immutable, not subject to the changes that all other created things experience. God is also the dependable and faithful God who is always present with His people, as seen in the command to tell the Israelites, “I AM has sent me to you”.

This morning, we may not have experienced a burning bush experience that Moses had; but we know that God is real and that He speaks to us daily. We expect that from God, Moses did not expect to hear from God, and he didn’t know God intimately like we do. This morning the Father stands before you to send you to tell someone that He is breaking every chain, releasing others from their personal prisons, and setting millions free trough His Son, Jesus Christ. Spread the word, and do not fear rejection, those that would reject our message are not rejecting us, they are rejecting God, we are just His messengers.

Prayer:

Lord, the Great I AM, we hear you this morning giving us direction to tell someone what Jesus has done for us, and what He can do for them. There is no other name in heaven or on earth in which we must be saved but by the name of Jesus. We go this morning in the power of the Great I AM! In Your name Lord Jesus we pray, Amen!
