God Encircles Me
Psalms 18:
“For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God, The God who encircles me with strength, And makes my way blameless? He makes my feet like deer’s feet, And sets me up on my high places.”
David gives some great imagery of our God in these verses:
God, the Lord, meaning He is Who reigns victorious over all dominions and powers.
God, our Rock, meaning He is my solid foundation on which we stand.
God, who encircles us with strength, meaning He is an impenetrable fortress around us.
God, who makes our way blameless. He catches us when we fall and upholds us with His hands.
God, who gives us feet like a deer, who gives us stability even in treacherous territory.
God who sets us on high places. This could mean that God sets us in a vantage point to see what enemy was coming, or God sets us in positions of authority.
Prayer:
Lord, You are our Lord, our Rock, and our strength. You make our way blameless, and You give us the ability to run even when the way is unstable. You set us high far above our enemies, and You have placed Your authority and power within us. To You we are grateful. To You we owe everything. In Your name, Lord Jesus, we praise You, Amen!
