Connection

John 15:4 ESV

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”

We know that we are doing the will of Jesus when we stay connected to Him. How do we stay connected to Jesus? Stay in God’s word. We can’t just read His words, we need to study each passage and see what God’s message is saying to us personally. There are thousands of commentaries and Bible dictionaries online to guide us into His truths. Reading, listening understanding and applying God’s words to our lives keeps us connected to Him.

Stay in communication with God. We talk to God and then we allow Him to speak to us. How does He speak to us? Through the Spirit of God and through reading God’s words, His words reveal what we need to know.

Prayer:

Lord, I want to abide in You, I want to immerse myself in Your words and obey You wholeheartedly. I want You to work in me and through me. I want to follow hard after You as if my life depended on our relationship, because my life and heart do depend on You completely. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
