Our Weakness/His Strength

2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

“But He (Jesus) said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.’”

The Lord promised Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you” (meaning God’s undeserved favor and provision are enough) and “My power is made perfect in weakness” (God’s strength shines best when humans are at the point when they feel helpless).

God’s grace isn’t just enough to get by; it’s all-sufficient for every need, even when struggles continue relentlessly.) True strength is God’s divine power revealed through our limitations, showing that He is the source of our ability, not ourselves. Because God’s power works best in weakness, Paul learned to be content and even joyful in his struggles, recognizing they made Christ’s presence and power more apparent in his life.

We don’t want troubles, we don’t want the sorrows, the pain, the agony of heart and mind, so the only thing to do is cast it all on Jesus. He will shine in us and through us, that He will be glorified, that He will be lifted up. In return we will find the peace and rest of our Lord. The enemy will not understand it, he is doing his best to destroy us, but our Lord will take what the enemy is doing to us and still the raging seas of our emotions and give us God’s strength to overcome.

Prayer:

Lord, we need You, every hour we need You, hear our cry, wipe away the tears. Subside the storms of our minds, still our troubled hearts. Become the strength that we need to become overcomers. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
