Living For the Day

Pslams 127:1 ESV

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”

This verse reflects building a house, a family, a career, a business, and especially our character. We can only be successful with God from beginning to end. Laboring in vain means even with great skill, resources, or hard work, without God’s involvement anything that we try to build will be feudal, temporary, or ultimately collapse, no matter how much we toil if we do not begin and end with God.

“Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” Symbolizes our communities, nations, or even our personal lives and well-being. The watchman signifies human attention, and security measures, and our efforts to protect our families, friends and our city, county, nation are useless without God’s protection. Our own efforts will fail because we need God’s principal care and watchfulness for true safety.

Prayer:

Lord, we need You in every area of our lives, from beginning to the end. We need you today, we will need You tomorrow, only You can provide the growth and success that we seek. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
