Influences
1 Peter 5:3 ESV
“Not domineering over those in your charge (in your circle of influence) but being examples (set a standard of who Jesus wants you to be) to the flock (family of Christians).”
I know that Peter was writing this to people in charge, but I want to extend it to people in charge and people that we can influence with our love, lives, our faith and our witnesses. We have all been given a circle of influence. We may not feel like that circle is very big, but God has given us people that watch us, that listen to us, and some that live their lives in reflection of what they have seen in us. I have had a huge circle of people that affected me in my walk, both people that I should pattern my life after and those that I do not need to pattern my life after. I too have a circle of influence, people that I need to love, respect, pray for, communicate with, and people that I need to lead by example.
Prayer:
Lord, help me walk with my circle of influence by keeping my eyes upon you! Help me to be who You designed me to be, help me to walk thoughtfully and consciously before You with my eyes set on You. In Your name I ask, Amen!
