Practicing What We Tell Others to Do

Titus 2:7-8 ESV

“Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

This is a call for radical consistency between belief and behavior, making our life a powerful testimony for God. We are to be a living example of kindness, honesty, and right actions in every part of our life, not just in words. Our instructions to others has be honest, pure, and wholesome. After all, one of the greatest life challenges is facing people that are always looking for faults in our lives. When our life and words align perfectly, those who oppose our faith are silenced, not through shame or humiliation, but because they can’t find fault, because we have demonstrated the truth of the Gospel through our character. They see God in us and through us.

Prayer:

Lord, lead me, guide me, direct my path for Your names sake. Let Your light shine through me today and every day. Make my life a living example of Your love, grace and mercy. Let my words be Your words, Let my heart and my actions be You working in me and through me. Lead me in the way of integrity and honesty today. In Your name Lord Jesus I ask, Amen!
