Trust is God

Jeremiah 17:7-8 ESV

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

This verse describes the person who has complete faith in God, their full trust is in God which means they give God full control of every aspect of their lives, physical, mental, relational and spiritual. Jeremiah says, “whose trust is the Lord,” that means that every aspect of our trust is only found in God, there is no one else. We are blessed because we find stability and provisions in Him even in difficult times. Unlike the person who trusts in his or her own abilities, or those who trust in other people, hoping they will be able to save or deliver them. Trust has to be placed in the hands of the one who can bless and defend us utterly and completely, that trust is in God. When we trust in God it is compared to a tree with roots deeply planted by a stream, so it never fears drought or heat because its needs are constantly met. They know that God provides for all their needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Prayer:

Lord, You are my trust, because You are my all in all. You are my everything. You are not just in my life, You are the One who sustains me physically, mentally, relationally and spiritually, You are my life. In You I trust, Lord Jesus, Amen!
