Do Not Be Frightened

Joshua 1:9 ESV

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua was assuming command of what many believed was close to two million people. He was also the commander of a vast army of true warriors. To top it all off he was in a foreign country just about to cross a huge river into a land that they would have to fight for. It was enough to be intimidated. In this moment God spoke to Joshua. I don’t know if Joshua heard an audible voice or a voice down deep inside of him, but he knew it was God. The message: for Joshua to be strong and courageous because the Great I Am was with him. He told him not to fear or be overwhelmed because in actuality God was leading Joshua as Joshua was leading these people.”

The message I hear the Master saying this morning is, “Be strong and be fearless, be courageous, do not be afraid, do not get overwhelmed or anxious, I AM is here, let Him lead you today.”

Prayer:

Lord, today I step aside and let You lead. I hear You saying that You are with me wherever I go today. At any and every point when things begin to get anxious, and I start to fret, help me to know that You are near and that You have got this. You are the Lord that created everything by and for Your glory, nothing can stop You, nothing can defeat You, nothing causes You to fear. The things that I fear, fear You, so I get out of the way and let You lead me today! In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
