A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1,4 ESV

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance…”

Life has its ups and downs, it’s just a fact of life. For some, the downs are more prevalent than the ups, or at least that is what they remember. We get nuggets of good things in our lives, good memories, good people come our way, maybe a good day at the beach, or a scene in nature that is unforgettable. With the good times there have been plenty of times of weeping, but the times when we get to feel good or laugh, they seem to be in short supply or is that just our perspective. Let me give you a practical example; I had a time in my life where I cried bitterly for days, weeks, it was a tragedy, and it was unforgettable. But in a few years, God created the biggest miracle of my life in that same situation. It was unforgettable. It was an undeniable miracle; it could not have just developed on its own or by my efforts. It was amazing. Since then, I have noticed that good times come, bad times come. There are times to weep and with that will come times to laugh, there are times to mourn, but there are times to dance as well. We get out of life what we put into life. We choose to control the narrative, or we give into God’s hands, and take what He gives us. I personally would rather take what God has for me because He does lead me into green pastures and He is with me through the valley of the shadows of death. There will me times of mourning and times of rejoicing I see that throughout God’s words.

Prayer:

Lord, You know full well that the life in the flesh is tough. You had times of weeping, and times of rejoicing, and times of great miracles where You saw others rejoicing. Lead me, Lord! In Your ways where I can see the good just as well as I can see the bad. I Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
