The Power in Jesus Name

Colossians 3:17 ESV

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

This phrase means that all of our actions, spoken and unspoken, should be done with Jesus’ authority, for His glory, and in a way that honors Him. It is a call to integrate our faith into every part of our lives, from our daily chores to major decisions that we have to make. We do this with an attitude of gratitude and a reliance on His Spirit. The ultimate goal is to live our lives to reflect Christ in all things, rather than focusing on our self-gratification. We are literally Jesus’s representatives to the world. If they see us, they should see Jesus; Our words, actions, deeds and even our thoughts should be under His authority and for His glory and honor.

Prayer:

Lord, I give my life to You. Live in me and through me. Make every fiber of my being be for Your glory and honor. I seek to live in You as You live through me. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
