Solid Foundation

Matthew 7:24-25 ESV

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.”

Jesus said whoever hears His words and puts His words into practice is like a man (woman) who builds their house on solid rock. When that happens whenever the storms of this life comes (bad news, lack, disappointments, sorrows) we will not fall apart because we had a solid base, we built our resolve on Jesus Christ. Preparedness is the key; if a hurricane comes, you make preparation for the hurricane that it will do minimal damage to your property and no damage to your life or your families life. In the same way, we prepare ourselves and our family by following Jesus Christ. So, when troubles come, and they will come, there will not be devastation and we will not be shocked because we are anchored in Jesus.

Prayer:

Lord as the old hymn says; “My hope is built on nothing less, Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, (anything that appears like a solid foundation but it is not), But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ the solid rock I stand, All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand. Today we stand in You Lord Jesus, Amen!
