Jesus is Moved with Compassion by What Troubles Us.

John 11:33-35 ESV

“When Jesus saw her (Mary brother of Lazarus) weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in His spirit and greatly troubled. And He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept.”

Jesus saw Mary and the mourners mourning from the loss of Lazarus, and He was moved with compassion. He already knew what He was going to do by raising Lazarus from the dead long before this day came, but still he had such compassion and love for this family and their sorrow of heart broke His spirit.

It is no different for you and me, Jesus sees what we are going through, the agony, troubles, fears, worries and torments. Can He remove them? Absolutely, but what He wants most of all is for us to trust Him, just like He asked Mary and Martha to do, just trust Him to do the right thing. Sometimes it is immediate deliverance, sometimes it is to walk with Him and learn from the situation, sometimes our deliverance is a resurrection. Whichever it is, just trust Him, He feels our pains and knows our sorrows.

Prayer:

Lord, it’s not always easy to be still, believe and trust, sometimes we just want things fixed. You have a perfect will and a perfect way and You know the outcome long before the trouble ever comes, we want to walk in faith, but it’s hard sometimes. Strengthen us for what we are going through, make still our hearts in the middle of our troubles and sorrows. Thank You for Your tender love, concern and care. In Your name Lord, Amen!
