My Salvation
Isaiah 12:2 (ESV)“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
Isaiah said that God was his salvation. That means that God is the ultimate source of his deliverance, strength, and joy, enabling complete trust, wiping away all fear or dread. It signifies that God provided well-being—physically and spiritually, and that He is an eternal rescue, making God the reason for praise and confidence. Isaiah’s deliverance certainly did not happen by human effort. Isaiah states that God is his salvation and then he gives the reason why God was his salvation; because God was his strength and song, or God becomes the reason for his joy, praise, and the theme of his life’s “song” or story. It’s a declaration of total reliance on God for power (strength) and praise (song).
This is a concept we see fully realized in Jesus Christ. When Jesus becomes our power and the praise on our lips, He becomes that salvation to us. This salvation is not a one-time experience, it is a lifetime, everyday experience.
Prayer:
Lord, we look to You this morning as our salvation. There are a lot of us that need that saving grace this morning and there will be many that we will face today that need Your saving grace. Be to us this day our salvation, our strength and the song in our heart. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
