Jeremiah 17: 7-8a ESV
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green…”

God lays it out very specific for us: Blessed (highly favored is the Man (woman) who trusts God, who relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord. When troubles come and the heat is on, that man or woman can take it because they are rooted and grounded in the mercies and favor of God.
