Wise Godly Counsel

Psalms 1:1 ESV

“Blessed is the man (or woman) who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.”

These days, everyone has advice to give. The problem is, not every advice is good advice, especially if it is coming from someone who is not a Christian. I’m not saying that they are all wrong about everything, but if they do not know the Lord, they certainly cannot give us advice on the things of life with godly advice. There is a God wisdom about everything in life where God can be the center of everything in our lives. Getting advice from someone who is not a Christian is always suspect, it is tainted with what they know, worldliness. Don’t walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Don’t stand on the testimony of sinners. Don’t sit down and have a heart to heart with those who cannot offer godly advice.

Prayer:

Lord, I know I live in a world full of non believers, but I will not let their darkness cloud the light of the Lord in me. I trust in Your Holy Spirit to guide me. In Your name, Lord Jesus, amen!
