The Heavens Declare

Psalms 19:1-3 ESV

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.”

David says that, even though we cannot hear the sounds of the heavens (everything that is above the earth) they are continuously praising the Creator. The night sky that we will see tonight, will not exactly be the same night sky that you will see tomorrow night, and so on. The arrangement of stars, planets, and constellations changes every evening, due to the Earth’s rotation and orbit.

“And the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” What you see in the heavens is a living testimony of the Creator. Scientists will tell you that this all happened by accident, but it was flawlessly produced by God. Every star, every planet, every constellation and every galaxy was produced by our God. 

“There is no speech…” We do not hear words, but the glorious symphony of the heavens can be heard by everyone throughout every point on the globe.

Prayer:

Lord, we understand that even if we, are silent, creation cries out praise and glory and honor to you. We, Your greatest creation will praise You with our life, our song, and our deeds. In Your name, Lord Jesus, we praise You and honor You, amen!
