Rights and Privileges

James 1:16-18 AMP

“Do not be misled, my beloved brothers and sisters. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes]. It was of His own will that He gave us birth [as His children] by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits of His creatures [a prime example of what He created to be set apart to Himself—sanctified, made holy for His divine purposes].

God is all that is good. In Him there is no darkness at all. That was the reason that James said in the preceding verses that God leads no one astray. In God all is good, so what He gives us is also good.  Because of God’s great love for us, He adopted us as His own children. As Children of God whether by birth or adoption, we have all the rights and privileges as natural children. All good is available to us. We as adopted children are a first fruit, we are prime examples to the world what it is like to be children of God. Live as His children, obey as His children, thrive as His children. Show the goodness of God in and through your lives.

Prayer:

Lord, we are adopted into Your family. Today I ask for special gifts, anointings, blessings beyond what we can imagine. I ask for all the rights and privileges as Your children, on everyone who is reading this devotion today. In Your Mighty name, Lord Jesus, Amen!
