Steadfast

James 1:12 ESV

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

Steadfast in the New Testament is generally ascribed to the exhortation to Christians to be unshakable, urging them to remain firm in faith, hope, and devotion to God. It’s a call for us to deepen our commitment to God and to continue to trust Him no matter what the circumstances are. I have a lot of friends that trust God until things don’t work their way so they scramble and try to do things that will bring temporary solutions. I would hope that no one is ok with just temporary solutions. I have also found out that the blessings of God do not always come the way that I think they should come, or the way I think would be best. God sees our heart, He knows when we have asked, but He also knows when we hold out a contingency plan in case it does not happen the way we want things to happen, for us or our families.

Prayer:

Lord, I pray for my friends, family and myself to have complete trust in You. I pray that we give You time to do what is best. We are not always patient people, so build up the faith that You have given us and help us to walk in faith and trust in You completely, without reservation. In Your name, Lord Jesus I ask, Amen!
