Ask
Matthew 7:7-8 ESV
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
For Christians asking, seeking, and knocking are about having a relationship with a loving God.
When we are looking for a close relationship with with a person, we seek someone who wants to be with us. We want them communicate with us, that is the asking part of the relationship. Knocking in a relationship is compelling that person to open up to us and let us into their lives.
Is it any different with God? He desires a relationship with every one of us. He desires our conversation with Him every day. He knocks on the door of our hearts and compells us to let Him into the essence of our lives.
Prayer:
Lord, hopefully, we are all in a close relationship with You. We want to be in Your presence. Our benefit is that You know us better than we know ourselves, and You know what we need more than we do. Your benefit is for us to abide with You because You love us and You want to share Your heart and Your home with us. In Your name, Lord Jesus, we love You, knowing You first loved us. Amen!
