God’s Might

Psalms 18:29 NASB

“For by You I can run at a troop of warriors; And by my God I can leap over a wall.”

These are experiences that David had in battles. David knew what it was like to fight and win.

For by You (God) he could run at a wall of enemy soldiers and not just make it out alive, but be victorious. David didn’t wait for the enemy to come to him; he went to the enemy as he did with Goliath.

David’s second part of this verse speaks of leaping over a wall, which meant scaling a fortress.  It took guts and courage on a whole new level to scale an enemy’s fortress.

Often, we just want to survive the attacks of the enemy; we don’t dare take the fight to him, but David knew that when he had God’s favor, he could do anything.

We have the favor of God to fight and win the battle for us and our family and our circle of friends.

Prayer:

Lord, by your might, and by Your courage, we can not only fight, but we can win. The enemy that we are afraid of, is afraid of You! Empower us for the battle, Lord! In Your name, Lord Jesus, we pray, Amen!
