I Can Do All Things Through Christ

Philippians 4:13 AMP

“I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose – I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace. ]”

This passage reads like this in the ESV Bible; “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” I gave it to us this morning in the Amplified because the Amplified version brings a few things to the forefront.

1.       I can do what Jesus has asked me to do because He empowers me to do what He has asks me to do.

2.       I am self-sufficient in Jesus’s sufficiency. Which means; we, as Christians, are rooted entirely in Christ rather than our own abilities. 

3.       I am ready for anything and equal to anything because of Jesus’s power and anointing on me.

Paul was writing to the church in Philippi, explaining he had learned to be content whether he had plenty or was in need, full or hungry, and that Christ gave him the strength to handle these varying situations.

Prayer:

Because of You Jesus, I can do all things through You. Whatever the situation, as long as I have You in my life and I allow You to work through my emotions, my will and my reasoning, I can work through any situation. Nothing is hopeless when You are in us. In Your name Lord Jesus I pray, Amen!!
