Insecurity to Secure
Exodus 3:9-11 ESV
“And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
Moses was terribly insecure. I think it was because he spent forty years hiding from his past. When God approached Moses, Moses just wanted to stay where he was at and finish life hiding out with just his family and his sheep. God had other plans for Moses because He knew what Moses would be. God also had supplied everything that Moses would need to do what He asked him to do. Moses had no idea what God had placed in him, and he didn’t want to know. But Moses would have to step out to find out what was in him.
The Bible is full of people that are insecure; Moses, Gideon, Jeremiah, David and many more, but in God’s divine will He brought these individuals to their potential when they finally stepped out in faith. We may feel like we cannot do great things for God, but if God called you then He also supplied everything that you will need to finish that race that He has given you. Never limit God, don’t let the past, don’t let sin, don’t let insecurity, and intimidation keep you from all that God has for you to do.
Prayer:
Lord, You know what we are capable of, give us the strength to move forward for You. You called us, You anointed us, You filled us with the abilities and power to accomplish all that You have for us to do, help us to keep moving for You. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
