Deliverance

Psalms 116:8 ESV

“For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling…”

Esther, who became a Jewish queen by unusual circumstances, but in the divine order of God, courageously saved her Jewish nation from a plot to exterminate them. By revealing the plot to her husband, King Xerxes, under threat of losing her life, she foiled the evil plan and saved the Jewish people from destruction. Her deliverance was from death of her and her nation, came from many tears of bitterness because of the threat. She almost stumbled in making a decision what to do, but in the end she made the right decision.

God’s saving power is endless in all situations of life. He is able to deliver, and our faith and trust in Him will give us what we need to sustain life, health and safety and hope that one day we will be with Him forever.

Prayer:

Lord, sustain us today; protect us and our families and the ones that we love. Wipe away the tears of sadness for loss or even for shear frustration of life in this world. Keep us from failing, steady our walk with You. Uphold us by Your righteous hands and bring us to the point of peace and contentment. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
