The Breath of God

2 Timothy 3:16-17 AMP

“All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man (or woman) of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable. Honestly that should be enough for us to dive in and take advantage of this amazing book called the Bible. What I have found is that most people do not know how to apply His words to real life situations and needs; mentally and spiritually. Paul addresses the spiritual needs first with conviction of sins, correcting our walk with God, how to get back on track with God because when this area of our lives is running true to God’s will and words, everything else will be in tune. Then the mental aspects of our lives will come together, things will begin to make sense, and we can think and reason proficiently. Study the words of God, don’t just scan the words, read with understanding. Find a good translation and get insight and direction, then we will be ready for every good work that the Lord has for us.

Prayer:

Lord, lead us in Your words and by Your words today. Lord, we trust in you with all of our hearts, and we will not lean on our own understanding of things but submit to Your will and Your ways, then our paths will become straight and true (inspired by Proverbs 3:5-6). Guide us through Your words Lord and teach us as we read. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
