His Words Are Truth
Isaiah 55:10-11 AMP
“For as the rain and snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth, Making it bear and sprout, And providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result), Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”
These two verses relay God’s promises to us as they will be manifested in our lives as we come into right relationship with Him. The imagery of rain and snow falling from heaven to water the earth, causing plant life to grow and produce food. This comparison highlights the life-giving and productive nature of God’s words. Just as rain and snow are essential for life in an agricultural context, God’s words are vital for spiritual life and growth. It’s not just something spoken, but an anointing that accomplishes God’s purposes. The central message is that God’s word will not return to Him empty or without having achieved its intended outcome. It emphasizes the certainty and reliability of God’s promises and the fulfillment of His will. God’s words are true, and they are life for those who will read them.
