Joy and Peace
Isaiah 55:12 ESV
“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
In this passage, God is telling Israel that when they finally come into a right relationship with Him, That they will have true joy and they will experience peace in the land.
For us, when we come into a right relationship with God by receiving His Son as Lord and Savior, we will have inexpressible joy. A joy that says we are confident in God our Savior. A joy that no one can take away from us, a joy that even when things look bad, we know that the answer is on its way, and we still rejoice. The peace that we know and will experience in this right relationship with God is beyond words or comprehension, it is a peace, not as an absence of trouble, but a peace that calms us even in the middle of trouble.
As far as the mountains and the hills breaking forth in song, yes even nature rejoices in the favor of God. We may not see them clapping, we may not hear them singing but it still rejoices. How do I know? Think about your favorite spot in nature, or a favorite picture of a sunrise or a sunset. In those, tell me you can’t’ hear nature rejoicing in the favor of the Lord.
Prayer:
Lord, we shout with joy and we experience the peace that passes all understanding when we are in right relationship with You. In Your presence is full of joy and at Your right hand are pleasures forever more (Psalms 16:11). In You name Lord Jesus, Amen!
