Transformation

Isaiah 61:10 ESV

“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation; He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”

The results of salvation are the changes that takes place in our lives. We are no longer on our own, hopeless, discontent, grouping in the darkness to provide for ourselves. Now, God is our strength, our stronghold, He is our provider. He clothes us in righteousness and favor. What I really love about this imagery of a bridegroom and bride is the fact that others will see us, not as we were without God, but who we are in Christ Jesus. A new creation, our old nature is gone and we put on the new nature in Christ Jesus. Our lives should be a testimony to the world of the transformation that has taken place in us because of Jesus in us.

Prayer:

Thank You Lord for saving us, for giving us a new life, new hope, a new beginning. Thank You that the old nature with all of its faults and failures and endless problems is gone and our new nature looks amazingly enough like You. Full of joy, blessings, peace and contentment. Thank You Lord Jesus, Amen!
