God’s Ways

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Our human reasonings and understanding are often rooted in the temporary and finite. We judge the world and the things in the world according to our thoughts and standards. Often our ways and thoughts are stemmed from our environment, the way we were brought up, how we have conditioned ourselves in life. This passage encourages us to trust in God’s higher purpose, even when life’s circumstances seem confusing or when plans don’t go as expected. Trusting God is essential for a joy filled, and fulfilled life.

Recognizing God’s superior wisdom will lead us to a deeper dependence on Him. Instead of taking everything at face value that we engage in through this life, seek His higher wisdom about all things great or small. His guidance through prayer and scripture will prepare us for what lies ahead of us.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You that we do not have to do this life on our own. Thank you that even as we assess information, make plans for the future, administer our businesses, it is easier if we seek Your wisdom, trust in Your words, live by Your design and not our own. Thank You for Your greater wisdom, knowledge and understanding. I love the fact that we have to seek out Your wisdom, it encourages a daily walk with You. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
