Remain In Me

John 15:4 NIV

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

The constant in this verse is “remaining in Jesus,” how do we do that? It begins by giving Him our entire life, not leaving out any aspects. We have to give iEVERYTHING to Him. Begin by developing a deep, abiding relationship with Him. This involves spending time in prayer and reading God’s words. Reading with understanding which may involve different authentic translations, or getting help from someone who understands the scriptures, or a good commentary

Bearing fruit involves glorifying Him in all that we do, and actively participating in spreading the good news of Jesus to our circle of influence. It is a continuous process of trusting in Him, submitting to His will, and allowing His Spirit to work through us to bring Him glory and honor. It involves doing works of service like encouraging, strengthening, and lifting up one another. It involves sharing what Jesus has done for us in our lives.

Prayer:

Lord, we want to know You more, trust You more, learn from You more. We want to abide in you by reading Your words and understanding Your purpose for ourselves and for all mankind. Use us for Your glory Lord. In Your name we pray, Amen!
