True Fulfillment

John 15:10-11 ESV

“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

These two verses contain a cause and affect that cannot be separated. If we keep Jesus’s commandments then we will be fully immersed in His love. When this becomes our way of life and thinking then we will experience His joy. I’m not speaking of happiness or laughter necessarily but it contains that as well, but I’m speaking of a fulfillment, a place of peace and contentment. This reality can only come from knowing and immersing ourselves in Jesus. When we have all of His joy (peace, contentment, fulfillment) in us, then our joy becomes full or complete. Then, and only then, do we sense a Holy Rest, a complete fulfillment that all is in the hands of the Master and He is complete in us.

Prayer:

Lord, I would like that we all find this peace, rest, fulfillment and joy. In a world of heartaches, pain and trouble on every side, all we have is You to bring us peace and joy. Today I pray that this joy will be in every person that is our circle of influence. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
