Happy Independence Day 

2 Timothy 1:7 ESV

“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

We live in a great nation. Besides all that is going wrong in this nation, we still have freedom because of God’s sovereignty and purpose for this nation. We have the right to choose, the right to wake up this morning and do what we want to do. If we do not like the way things are going for this nation we have the right to vote. We have the right to voice our opinion, but as Christians, we know that right is subject to our King Jesus that lives within us. Some do not have Jesus living inside of them so they propagate fear. 

But God did NOT give us timidity or fear, He gave power through the Holy Spirit to make a difference. He gave us love. That love will always be our motivation when we speak or act. He gave us a sound mind and self-control to control our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The people who live in darkness do not possess these things but we do.

If there was ever a time to pray, it is now. Pray for the people that live in this great nation.

Prayer:

Lord, we pray that Your light will shine through so people will see You in us. We pray that You will heal our lands and help us as a nation to head in the right direction. We pray that Your light will reveal the darkness and shine the light on all who would hurt our nation from within or from outside of our nation. Lord, we need You now more than ever. AMEN!
