Help From the Lord

Psalms 94: 17-18 ESV

“If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.”

King David is speaking of God’s saving power when he got into trouble.  It makes me think of my own situation of how many times God has rescued me physically and spiritually.

How many times in your life has God saved your life physically? How many times did He bring you back from a stumble spiritually?

No one really knows how many thousands of times God came and rescued us. I remember specific times that God kept me from harm, and His hand of mercy and protection was over me for 30 years as I traveled to work and back home safely. I believe all of us can point to the times where we remember that God kept us from harm and the times God pulled us out of the pit that we got ourselves into because we got off of His pathway for our lives.

Prayer:

Lord, we echo David’s words, Lord be our help. If You Lord had not helped us, our souls would soon have lived in the land of silence. When we felt like our feet were slipping into the pit or off of Your pathway, Your steadfast love, O Lord, held us up. Thank You again and again for Your unfailing and steadfast love. In Your name Lord Jesus we pray, Amen!
