Being Jesus to the World

John 13:20 ESV

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.”

Our mission on earth may seem to us to be good citizens, have civic duties, portray kindness, be responsible people and find our niche in this life, and those are all good things that we should do. Our mandate from Jesus includes these things as well as following Jesus and do as He has told us to do, be influential for the “good News,” of Jesus Christ. We are to live responsible as to reflect Jesus, in other words, be Jesus to the world. What do we want the world to see of our Savior? Not our own interpretation of Jesus, but the straight up example of who Jesus is and the words that He gave us. When we properly do these things, people receive us, they receive Jesus, and they receive the Father. All these things are our mandate and mission.

Prayer:

Lord, sometimes I think we get lost in doing our duties on earth that we forget why You placed us here. Yes, we are to live our lives the best that we can, be we have a mandate from you to love one another, to serve one another, to show the world who You are. Help us to be You to the world that when they see us, they see You. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
